Northwest of the Great Lakes, between Lake Superior and Lake of the Woods, lies a vast network of smaller lakes and rivers. In the heart of this wilderness lies the 1.3 million acre Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) extending nearly 150 miles along the Minnesota-Ontario border adjacent to Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park. This is an area which has been preserved in all its primeval beauty and is wilderness canoe country without equal. With over 2,000 cool, freshwater lakes, 1,200 miles of canoe routes, and countless connecting rivers, streams, and portages, the BWCAW offers unparalleled freedom to those who wish to pursue an experience of expansive solitude, personal challenge, and immersed integration with nature.
Come join Matt and Mark as we meet the challenge of this Northwood’s wilderness, fishing for bass, lake trout, walleye and northern pike, swimming in clear, clean lakes, observing and photographing wildlife in their natural habitat, and exploring backcountry lakes and rivers. Experience for yourself why the BWCAW is listed in the book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die”.
The following is a brief overview of what’s included in the trip.
